Chicken Chat
by Laurel Smith

We Talk Squawk!

Our cheeky chickens are so plucky that they have their own talk show! Starring your  hosts Bellatrix "Bella" (the pretty one) and Narcissa "Cissy" (the smart one).  They love talking squawk almost as much as they love wearing their fabulous outfits and costumes. They are happy chickens and at least one of them even lays eggs.

If you have questions for these fluffy fowls, please post them on our Chicken Chat facebook page or on one of their youtube videos to possibly be included in a future episode. Ask them anything you like!   We love our chickens very much, and if we get a lot of thumbs-up, we'll make more episodes. So, hit thumbs up on youtube if you love chickens!

Chicken Chat Episode 3 - No chickens in manger scenes?! What? (Chicken butt!!)
They have a recipe for Christmas omelettes and demand to know why they are not featured in manger scenes with the other animals!

Bella’s Christmas Omelet

PRINT this Recipe (pdf)

1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 red bell pepper, chopped
½ onion, diced
olive oil
4-5 eggs
1/3 c. milk
3 T.  feta cheese crumbles (flavored with sun dried tomato & basil)
Salt and  pepper to taste

In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs and milk, and then mix in feta cheese. Set aside.

In a large nonstick saucepan,  heat olive oil over medium heat. When pan is hot, add in onions and cook till partially translucent. Add in the bell peppers and cook about 1 min.  Add the whisked egg around the pan.  Finish off with more freshly ground black pepper.

Cook about 5 minutes, or until firm, tilting pan to allow uncooked eggs to run to the sides to heat through if necessary.

Omelet can be folded over filling, or served flat to show the pretty red & green Christmas color of your dish.  Garnish with peices of bell pepper if desired.  Leftover ham from Christmas Eve dinner can also be added to this deliciously pretty dish!

Chicken Chat Episode 2 - Trash Talk the Turkeys! - Bella and Cissy show off their Pilgrim costumes in our Thanksgiving Day special. What's with all the turkey talk? Chickens are way better than turkeys!

Chicken Chat Episode 1 - We Talk Squawk! - Let's get to know us a little. Cissy is the smart, ambitious and has big aspirations for herself as a chicken. Bella is .... pretty!  And guess what?  Chicken butt!!!
